you got my money, man?

Something about a cartoon baby beating up a cartoon dog is pretty hillarious. I don't know why, just is.
I've been setting some goals for myself, and we'll see what comes of them. Here are a few:

  • write a full-length play before the end of March
  • write a little every day in my short story and poem collection, The Luminaries
  • be nice to certain people no matter what it takes
  • get a job

Anywhos, what's new? I've been going to classes regularly, doing homework almost as much. I miss my family, all of my friends, and even Bethel. Most of all, however, I miss my best friend, Emma Jane. I've been passing the time by riding the subway around town. I go to Borders on occasion, never to buy, just peruse. When I was last there, this actually happened to me.
Also, I'm currently reading a treacherous tale of two brothers who liked music, and I have to say that I'm addicted to every word. It's solid gold. I give it 4 stars out of 5 (I'll give them the other star when they include a space battle).
Well, I'm out!

chad? who's chad?

Sorry I haven't posted here in a while. I haven't had much of a free moment to do this, but I finally am sitting down, taking a moment to relax a bit. If you don't know already, I am now in Hollywood! My classes start tomorrow, and I'm pretty excited. I've already met a lot of fun people, and it's looking to be an interesting year, to say in the least.

There's not too much to post right now, but I'll keep you all updated as time goes on!

Miss you all,
Andy

i'm going to go back there someday

This article by young Timmy Johnson is, in my opinion, a much-needed perspective on the generalizations and negativity visited upon children by their parents and other adults.

Adults Have Misclassified Me As A Handful

In other news, Emma and I went to Westland this weekend to visit the family, and a fun time was had by all. Also, I went to IKEA for the first time while I was there. I never understood the hype until I actually went and experienced it for myself. It's a magical world of home merchandise, and there are dozens of rooms to explore, like a walk-in catalog, complete with Swedish books

Late Sunday night / Monday morning, I arrived home to find a note on my door telling me that we only had the housing the college was providing until the 5th. So, I suppose this is my last week of work,

And I couldn't be happier
Simply couldn't be happier
Well - not "simply"
Cause getting your dreams
It's strange, but it seems
A little - well - complicated
There's a kind of a sort of cost
There's a couple of things get lost
There are bridges you cross
You didn't know you crossed
Until you've crossed
And if that joy, that thrill
Doesn't thrill you like you think it will

Anyways, love each other unselfishly, and be kind to all the animals. Especially bears.

i'll just have to find myself a new giant

Since when did TMZ.com become a source for reputable journalism? It seems like every day now I read a story in a magazine or watch a news show where they actually quote this god-awful excuse for a dirty rag. As far as I can remember, TMZ has always been a tabloid-esque entertainment website, and makes US Weekly look like The New Yorker. I'm assuming that the "school" of "thought" that defines this as a respected media news outlet is the same one that defines Hillary Duff as talented.

Here's a western analogy: If good journalism is like the Pony Express, then TMZ is a piece of paper on a rock thrown through your window. It comes right to you, but at what price?

it's all about the benjamins, baby!

Saga of Gold Hill Gulch starts Thursday. It's looking to be a fun show, especially for the target demographic, which are folks on the older side of... well, old. Also, you'll find out that anything I can do, Asha can do better.
